I will be restoring my plane to an authentic Military U.S. NAVY paint scheme which will be similar to this. It is interesting to note that there is still evidence of the original naval insignia and glossy sea blue paint on the plane today. My plane has an actual tailhook and has history from several detachments, including actual ship board assignment on the U.S.S. Shangri-la (CV38) in 1952 and VF-54, a corsair and skyraider fighter squadron from NAS Miramar, San Diego in 1953.
